During my teenaged years, like most teenaged girls at the start of the hip hop era, I rocked the hard curls and the Salt and Pepa bleached blonde look, having no clue I was effectively frying and killing my hair! I spent the greater part of my childhood thinking my hair would not grow. No one in my family really knew that by applying relaxers over Jheri curls and that by bleaching freshly relaxed hair, we may as well have set our hair afire! Over the years, after learning more about my hair and the proper ways to take care of it, I was finally able to achieve consistent hair growth, but I found that each time I grew my hair to a certain length, I had to cut it. I realized that I was weakening my hair at each relaxer touch-up due to overlapping and overprocessing. I did research and watched videos on techniques that helped protect previously relaxed hair during touch-ups, but unfortunately those techniques still exposed the previously relaxed hair to overlapping and overprocessing. That’s when I reached my "aha" moment and was inspired to create Length Savers™! It is my hope that Length Savers™ will give each user the ability to grow and maintain stronger, longer, and healthier hair.
